ELEVATE TOGETHER™ Cash Grants is designed to address systemic discrimination and historical racial disparities in business growth and profitability in Black and Hispanic communities.

Through a partnership with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the initiative helps support Hispanic small businesses with five or less employees. The ODP Corporation (parent company to Office Depot and CompuCom) is the initiative’s founding partner.

2023 Small Business Grant for Round 2 is now open .

Small business eligibility requirements for cash grants:

  • Business Certifications
  • Licensed (if applicable)
  • Registered with the Department of Revenue and Registered with the IRS
  • If applicable, also registered with the Department of State
  • Considered a Small Business based on SBA size standards
  •  In “good standing” with respective state
  •  Participate in small business education workshops or counseling with the LA Latino Chamber. Your participation will be verified at these sessions before cash grant is given
  • Business in existence at least 12 months
  • 1-5 employees 
  • At least 51% minority-owned, operated and controlled
  • A minority group member is an individual who is at least 51% Hispanic
  • Ownership, in the case of a publicly-owned business, means that at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more of these two minority group members
  • Owner must be at least 21 years old and be a legal resident of one of the 48 contiguous United States, the District of Columbia, Alaska or Hawaii
  • Business must provide plan for the use of funds
  • Mandatory -Business must provide a 60 second video introducing themselves and their business and why they are applying for the grant. Video must be uploaded to You Tube and link must be provided on the application. Video is required.
  • Be a current LALCC member in "good standing" for over one (1) year 
  • Must be an LA Latino Chamber Member for more than 1 year
  • Be a member who is a participants in training. 
  • Non-profit organizations are not eligible for this grant. No exceptions.
  • Take 3 mentoring sessions with SCORE Mentoring Team prior to receiving the grant, if selected. Sessions will be verified before cash grant is given
  • Business must have a headquarters in Los Angeles County. All information provided on the application will be verified 
  • Submit a Capability Statement to Olivia Rios at olivia@lalcc.org no later than Thursday, August 10, 2023

    Typical grant amount ranges up to $5,000 per business.

    Timeline:

    The Elevate Together committee will review applications. Qualifying applicants will be interviewed by the committee.  Awardees of the grants will be notified by September 1st and certificates and grants will be given at the LA Chamber signature "Fiesta Navidad" on December 2, 2023.

    • Technical assistance (workshops, training, bootcamps, one-on-one counseling) provided by National Urban League and US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce affiliates in local markets
    • Certified small business mentor from SCORE
    • Soon to come: Elevate Together University — small business workshops (accounting, finance, marketing, supplier development, IT, legal) presented by Elevate Together corporate partners


    • Provide access to professional networks and platforms
    • Help to increase the pipeline of diverse suppliers
    • Increase amount of capital available to minority small business owners through non-traditional lending sources


    • Cash grants to minority small business owners
    • Donation of in-kind products and services (copy and print services; tech products and services; office/home office furniture furnishings; business services; office supplies)

    How does a business participate in the Elevate Together initiative?

    Hispanic small business owners interested in participating in the initiative must contact the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce during standard business hours Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm PST.

    Why should a business participate in the Elevate Together initiative?

    Hispanic small business owners that are part of the Elevate Together initiative will receive short and/or long term-term education and training, mentoring and advisory services delivered by local community partners. Some businesses may also be eligible to receive a cash grant or in-kind products and services from the initiative.

    In how many locations will the Elevate Together initiative be launched?

    Elevate Together will launch in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and South Florida. The initiative will eventually be expanded to additional geographic locations in the United States.
