Formerly known as the Non-Profit Awards, The Alas Awards is the only event in Los Angeles produced exclusively to recognize and honor cause-driven, socially active organizations that uplift everyday people in our community.

“Alas,” which means "wings" in Spanish, symbolizes positive upward mobility, greater purpose and social good. This year, we are recognizing four exemplary organizations that are leading the path in the nonprofit sector through their commitment to their mission.

Please join us to celebrate these organizations that serve as community pillars and to commemorate the many "alas" that they have given to others, as we follow suit by contributing and giving back to a greater cause.

Our 2017 Alas Award recipients include:

  • Mexican-American Bar Association (MABA)
  • Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE)
  • Los Angeles Center for Law & Justice
  • El Proyecto del Barrio
The Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce (LALCC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created for the purpose assisting, uplifting, organizing and unifying Latino business owners to grow and create a positive economic impact in LA.
