The Miguel Contreras Foundation (MCF), in partnership with the Los Angeles County labor and business community, launched the Powered By Immigrants Campaign to ensure that Los Angeles County businesses powered by immigrants are safe and thriving work environments for both immigrant workers and their employers.

Immigrant workers and businesses powered by immigrants are critical to the success of our communities, businesses, and economy. Immigration enforcement in the workplace hurts our economy and the workers and businesses that power it. Whether through I-9 audits or ICE raids, immigration enforcement in workplaces impedes productivity, diminishes workforce morale, costs employers time and resources, and ultimately stunts future investment in our economy. Immigration enforcement is bad for business and bad for our communities.

The Powered by Immigrants Campaign is a labor and business community initiative that seeks to ensure safe and thriving work environments for immigrant workers and businesses powered by immigrants. MCF will provide training and resources to employers and immigrant workers to ensure that immigrant workers and their employers are protected from immigration enforcement.

With the support of leading labor and business organizations, including the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, and the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce, MCF will train local Los Angeles County businesses to create safe and equitable workplaces.
