Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

The Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce ("LALCC," "we," "us") collects only the personal information we need to serve our members and the business community. This policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

It applies to lalcc.org, our member portal, the LISTO portal, our newsletters, and our events and programs. It does not cover websites or services run by others, even when we link to them.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and a limited amount automatically when you use our website.

  • Contact details: name, email, phone and mailing address, collected when you join, subscribe, register for an event or contact us.

  • Business details: company name, industry, website, business address and certifications, collected with a membership application, directory listing or LISTO portal registration.

  • Account information: login email, password, membership level and renewal date, collected when you create a member account.

  • Payment information: billing name and address, and the amount and date of each transaction, collected when you pay dues, tickets or sponsorships.

  • Program information: what you submit for grants, certifications, procurement opportunities and partner programs, collected when you apply to a program.

  • Event information: registrations, guest names, and meal or accessibility requests, collected when you register for an event.

  • Communications: messages, survey responses and feedback, collected when you write to us or answer a survey.

  • Website usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring site, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

We may also receive information about you from others. Examples are a colleague who adds you to a company membership or registers you for an event, and a partner organization that refers you to us.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to run the Chamber and deliver the benefits of membership. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Process membership applications, renewals and payments

  • Create and manage your member account and portal access

  • List member businesses in our directory

  • Register you for events, webinars and programs, and manage attendance

  • Review applications for grants, certifications and procurement opportunities, and connect members with partners

  • Send newsletters, event invitations, member announcements and advocacy updates

  • Answer your questions and requests

  • Understand how our website is used and improve it

  • Protect our website, members and organization against fraud and misuse

  • Meet our legal, tax and reporting obligations

4. Business directory and member listings

Member businesses are listed in our business directory, which anyone visiting our website can see. A listing may include your company name, business category, description, logo, website, business phone, business email and business address.

Member profiles in the member portal are visible to other signed-in members. If you are accepted into the LISTO portal, your business profile is made available to the corporate and agency partners who use it to find suppliers.

You can update your listing in your member account, or ask us to change or limit it by emailing membership@lalcc.org.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that work on our behalf, such as our website platform (Wix), membership management, payment processing, email delivery, event registration and analytics providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.

  • Program partners. When you apply for a grant, certification, procurement opportunity or partner program, we share your application with the organization that administers or funds it.

  • Event sponsors and hosts. We share attendee information with a sponsor or co-host only when we tell you at registration or you agree to it.

  • Legal reasons. When the law, a court order or a government request requires it, or when needed to protect the rights, safety or property of LALCC, our members or the public.

  • Organizational change. If LALCC merges with or transfers its operations to another organization, your information may transfer with it.

  • With your consent. In any other case, only after you agree.

We do not give our member or subscriber lists to third parties for their own marketing. Sponsored and member e-blasts are sent by LALCC.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep it working and to learn how it is used.

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect the site and make checkout work. The site cannot run without them.

  • Analytics cookies show us which pages are visited and how visitors find us, so we can improve the site.

  • Third-party content, such as embedded videos, maps and social media links, may set its own cookies. Those providers may collect information about your activity over time and across websites.

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

7. Emails and newsletters

We email members and subscribers about news, events, programs, member opportunities and advocacy. You can stop these at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to info@lalcc.org.

If you unsubscribe, we will still send messages about your account, such as payment receipts, renewal notices and event confirmations.

8. Events, photos and recordings

We photograph and record many LALCC events, and may use those images on our website, social media, newsletters and promotional materials. Webinars and podcast episodes are also recorded and may be published.

If you would rather not appear, tell our staff or the photographer at the event, or email info@lalcc.org. We will also remove a published photo of you on request where we reasonably can.

9. Payments, retention and security

Payments. Card payments are handled by third-party payment processors. LALCC does not receive or store your full card number.

Retention. We keep your information while your membership or subscription is active, and afterward for as long as we need it for recordkeeping, legal, tax and reporting purposes. We then delete it or remove the details that identify you.

Security. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and limited staff access. No website or system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choice and rights

You can ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also:

  • Update your contact and business details in your member account

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails

  • Change or limit your directory listing

  • Decline non-essential cookies

To make a request, email info@lalcc.org or call (213) 422-9019. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep information we are legally required to retain.

California residents. California law may give you additional rights, including the right to ask whether we have shared your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

Children, other websites and changes

Children. Our website and programs are intended for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we will delete it if we learn we have.

Other websites. Our website links to partners, sponsors, member businesses and social media. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and tell members by email when a change is significant.
